Global Activities Day

We are doing the 90 kg challenge again. This involves selling 90 kg of Kilombero rice: this is the amount of rice a farmer in Malawi needs to sell each year to send his/her child to secondary school.

Kilombero rice is very versatile (it can be used for savoury and sweet dishes), and it is easy and quick to cook.

If you would like to buy some rice it is available from Mrs Farquharson in room 305.

  • £3.00 for 1 kg
  • £14.00 for 5 kg

Following the very successful exchange of senior pupils earlier this year, Mrs Crawford’s S3 English classes have been using the material gathered to write biographies of some of the Kenyan students.  Meantime, pupils in the Languages department in Otieno Oyoo High School have been writing biographies of our pupils.  Some pupils at both schools have written autobiographies.

This work is nearly ready to be printed and will comprise a book of about 90 pages, with photographs, reflective essays and pieces of writing, biographies and autobiographies.

The books will be on sale through the school at a price of £10.00.

If you would like to buy a copy of the book, please download an order form, or collect a form from the school office, and return it to Mrs Farquharson by 26 May 2011.  Click here to download the order form – Order Form.
