Dyce Academy opened in 1980, and is a well-established medium sized secondary school with 560 pupils. The school is situated on the border of Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire and attracts pupils from both the Aberdeen suburb of Dyce and the rural area around Dyce. It is a truly comprehensive school that is proud of its record for welcoming young people from different backgrounds with a wide range of interests and abilities and providing them with an excellent education.
Dyce Academy also has a reputation for providing a pleasant environment in which staff and pupils respect each other and get on well together. This environment stimulates learning and encourages responsible behaviour in the young people at the school. Pupils are very successful in gaining employment and places at colleges and universities throughout the country. The school is housed in a modern building. There are bright classrooms and well-equipped facilities for the full range of secondary courses. The S5/S6 curriculum is jointly programmed with a neighbouring secondary school, Bucksburn Academy, which allows the school to offer an especially wide range and combination of courses to senior students.
