Dyce Academy Careers Fair – Tuesday 2 December – 2.00-7.00 pm

The Careers Fair will be open to all pupils and parents from both Dyce and Bucksburn Academies as well as the local community.

The Careers Fair will be held within Dyce Academy Games Hall where there will be representation from approximately 40 different organisations including local and national companies, colleges,  universities and training providers. This will be a great opportunity for all pupils and parents to investigate and receive information on a vast array of career opportunities and may assist those pupils with subject choices to make over the coming months.

KAFKAH 2014

This year at Dyce Academy we are supporting the charities VSA and KAFKAH.

The VSA Appeal supports the most vulnerable citizens in Aberdeen. We are asking that all pupils should endeavour to bring in some non-perishable food for their Christmas Appeal.  Boiled sweets, pasta, dried foods, tins, jellies, rice, condiments, cereal; packets of soup, coffee, tea-bags, sauce mixes, hot chocolate, biscuits and custard are all suitable items that could be donated.

The charity KAFKAH (Kids Acting for Kids Abroad and Home) sends shoe boxes, which are filled with gifts and everyday essentials to Kosovo to help disadvantaged children have a happy Christmas. We are asking each register class to fill an individual box with gifts for a specific age and gender of a child. Suggestions are as follows:

  • Stationery: Pens, Pencils, Rubbers, Rulers, Sharpeners, Colouring Pens/Pencils, Pencil Cases
  • Toiletries: Shampoo/Conditioner, Bars of soap, Face wash, Loofah/Sponge/Face Cloth, Deodorant/Anti-Perspirant, Toothpaste/Toothbrush, Sanitary Wipes
  • Accessories: Hair Clips/Bobbles/Bands, Jewellery, Nail Polish/Varnish, Makeup
  • New Clothing: Hats/Scarves/Gloves, Underwear, T-Shirts/Shirts, Jumpers/Cardigans/Sweaters, Trousers/shorts
