EMAs – Session 2017-18

Education Maintenance Allowances (EMAs) provide financial support to eligible 16 to 19 year olds who want to continue learning.

If you are eligible for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA), you must complete the following every academic year:

  • an EMA application form
  • a learning agreement

Check www.emascotland.com to see if you are eligible.

Renewals require a new application form and the learning agreement to be completed each year.  Application Forms are available from the school office.

Lessons from Auschwitz

Dyce Academy are in a fortunate position to offer two places on this course to pupils in S5/S6 for free. Based on the premise that ‘hearing is not like seeing’, this four-part course explores the universal lessons of the Holocaust and its relevance for today. The LFA Project aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the Holocaust for young people and to clearly highlight what can happen if prejudice and racism become acceptable.

The visits to the former Nazi concentration and death camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau are preceded and followed by half-day seminars in order to ensure an exceptional educational experience.

If interested please collect an application from Mr Naples-Campbell asap.
