In-Service Day – Friday 5 June 2009

Parents are reminded that Friday 5 June is an in-service day.  Dyce Academy will therefore be closed to all pupils except those sitting SQA examinations.  School transport will be available for these pupils.

This is one of the additional in-service days given by the Scottish Government to allow schools to prepare for Curriculum for Excellence.

Curriculum for Excellence – Curriculum Projects

A number of departments are involved in Curriculum Projects with S1 and S2, trialling one of the teaching and learning experiences within Curriculum for Excellence known as Interdisciplinary Learning.  Details of the S1 Book Marketing project developed by the English, Library, ICT, Design and Technology and Art Departments can be found by clicking here.

Many of the projects which the pupils are participating in will be displaying their work around the school on Thursday 28 May.

Early Closure – Thursday 21 May

Informal Consultation on the Learning Strategy including Schools Estates

In order for all staff at Dyce Academy to have the opportunity to discuss the Learning Strategy, the school will be closing early on Thursday 21 May at 2.30 pm.

School transport has been arranged for this time.  Students taking SQA examinations are unaffected and will be bussed home at the end of the normal school day.

Parents have been invited to a meeting at Dyce Academy on 26 May at 7.00 pm to find out more about how education in our community may be delivered in the future.
