Dyce Academy Rag Bag Collection – May 2014
The Dyce Academy staff and pupils have been busy recycling!
A big thank you to everyone who brought in old clothes and textiles for the Rag Bag scheme  we raised £241.20!
This money will be donated to a charity that the pupils vote for over the next few weeks!
The ‘Rag Bag’ recycling scheme has been developed to provide regular fundraising for schools, clubs, nurseries and various organisations UK Wide. The scheme increases awareness about textile recycling and by increasing recycling rates we can help the environment by ensuring less material goes to landfill. We can accept the following items:
- All menÂs, ladies and childrenÂs clothing
- Paired shoes (tied together)
- Handbags, bags, ties & belts
- Household linen & towels
Low grade textiles are made into industrial wiping cloths, carpets, underlay and mattress linings and good quality clothing is transported to Africa and other developing nations where your old clothes are re-used. www.rag-bag.co.uk
The next Dyce Academy Rag Bag collection should take place Aug/Sept 2014.
