UCAS and CUKAS Deadlines

S5-6 students have now started working with their PT Pupil Support on their UCAS and CUKAS applications.  Various deadlines have been set by the PTs Pupil Support in order that references can be completed and applications received by UCAS and CUKAS in time.  Details of the deadlines can be found here –

It is the up to the students to meet these deadlines, not for the PT Pupil Support to chase them!

S1 Social Subjects

S1 pupils combined their historical and technical skills by building model Stone Age shelters in Social Subjects.

Working in pairs, they designed their own tent and created it from material, including sticks, string and scrap material.

The classes created a fantastic selection of shelters, which are now on display in 308.

S6 RMPS – Amnesty International Young Human Rights Reporter Competition

BBC S6 picS6 pupils today were lucky enough to have Fiona Stalker, BBC journalist, in to talk to them about human rights journalism.

The pupils had lots to ask her about how to write an article that will stand out above the rest.  The topic of the referendum also came up as the pupils are excited to be voting next week!

‘The Young Human Rights Reporter award celebrates talented young writers reporting on a human rights issue they care about’ The competition is a national one and closes early next year. If our pupils win there will be an awards ceremony to celebrate their success. Below are some of the topics pupils have chosen to write about:

  • The death penalty in America
  • Transgender rights
  • Mandatory voting
  • Human trafficking
  • Freedom of speech and censorship
  • Child soldiers

Wish them luck!
