Not for Human Consumption Event

Dyce Academy are piloting an event on Monday 11 May which is aimed at all pupils in S2 prior to moving into S3 which will be two fold. It aims to educate and raise the awareness of NPS (New Psychoactive Substances– Known as Legal Highs) and promote diversionary activities to discourage young people from anti social behaviour and the use of NPS.  This will be achieved by using local experts from Police Scotland, Aberdeen community partnership, Drugs Action Aberdeen, Satrosphere, Aberdeen City Alcohol and Drugs Partnership, Transition Extreme and Choices for Life.

The event is focused on educating young people about the risks involved with drugs and NPS products allowing them to make informed decisions. By dispelling popular misconceptions which surround NPS we will continue to raise awareness of the risks and increase the young people’’s knowledge and improve their own safety.

The event will be held in the school Games Hall and at the end of the school day will be open from 3.45pm until 5pm for any parents and members of the community who would be interested to attend.

Letters to parents have been issued and a copy can be viewed here – NPS Event – Letter to Parents
