Transform Project

Transform your school.  Transform your community.  Transform your life.

Dyce Academy is absolutely thrilled to have been selected by the National Theatre of Scotland to be involved in their Transform project supported by Determined to Succeed and Scottish Power Learning as well as support from Aberdeen City. This project will take place from August to December of 2009.

TRANSFORM is a programme that works in partnership with local authorities to engage communities through their school clusters and learning partnerships. It aims to enthuse and motivate participants and enable them to develop key skills they can adopt in life and the world of work. The programme aims to inspire and empower communities to create inspirational theatre, whilst exposing the participants to work-based vocational learning in all aspects of theatre making and event management.

A team of expert theatre practitioners, selected by the National Theatre of Scotland Learn Department (including a director, assistant director and producer) will be placed into our community and school for a period of up to 20 weeks. The TRANSFORM team will work with pupils, teachers, support staff and the local community to explore all aspects of making and promoting a site-specific piece of community theatre, followed by a short run of performances.
